Art Helps us to see in new ways
Students learn that thoughts and ideas can be conveyed clearly not only by writing and speaking but also by drawing. Exploring techniques in both drawing through observation, deconstruction (and re-construction), students will learn to find the balance in presenting their ideas and emotions through non-judgment freehand sketching using dry medium (pencil and ink). Extension of learning includes wet medium techniques to portray scenarios and convey moods.

Learning Outcomes
Art helps ys to see in new ways
In Secondary 2, we want our students to create images that reflect their identity and develop a personal voice in their works. Students have the opportunity to make decisions in their compositions and practice staying committed to their ideas. The Linocut/print project allows them to do basic research and skills in photography and portrait drawing.

Cardboard/ Paper Relief techniques will be taught to students, providing basic foundation and skills to build from simple relief work to more complex forms.

Students will be challenged to conserve materials and resources. They will also be prompted to extend their learning by researching for methods and ways to enhance their presentations.
